1. Responsible party
Preevees Trading (Pty) Ltd, trading as Preevees Financial Services (FSP 52703), is the responsible party for personal information it determines how and why to process. Our address is 9 Terence Pl, Durban North, 4051. The Information Officer can be contacted at priyesh@preevees.co.za or 072 111 9910.
2. Personal information we collect
Depending on your relationship with us, this may include:
- identity, contact, demographic and communication details;
- the questions and answers you submit in a website form;
- financial position, income, assets, liabilities, dependants, beneficiaries and objectives;
- policy, premium, claims, underwriting and product-application information;
- health or other special personal information where necessary and lawful for insurance or financial advice;
- records of advice, instructions, correspondence, calls and complaints; and
- technical information such as IP address, device/browser data, referring page and website interaction events.
If you give us information about another person, you should have authority to do so and make this notice available to them.
3. How we collect it
We collect information directly from you through forms, calls, email, WhatsApp, meetings and applications; from authorised representatives and referrals; from product providers, medical schemes and service providers involved in your request; and from lawful public, verification, fraud-prevention or regulatory sources.
4. Purposes and lawful grounds
We process information to respond to enquiries; provide, document and review financial advice; compare, apply for, place and service products; assist with claims and complaints; verify identity and prevent fraud; keep legally required records; secure and improve our services; and comply with FAIS, FICA, POPIA, PAIA, tax and other applicable obligations.
Processing is based on one or more lawful grounds, including consent, steps requested before a contract, performance of a contract, compliance with law, protection of legitimate interests, or another ground permitted by POPIA. Consent may be withdrawn, but that does not invalidate earlier lawful processing or processing required on another ground.
5. Website analytics and cookies
We use privacy-configured PostHog, Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement to understand page visits, traffic sources, CTA interactions, scroll depth, form progression and whether an advertising visit resulted in an enquiry. Structured, non-contact form selections such as a premium band, vehicle details, age band, parking type and claims band may be included in analytics events so we can understand where people leave the comparison. We do not intentionally send names, telephone numbers, email addresses, advisor notes or free-text enquiry messages to these analytics services. Browser storage may be used to maintain anonymous analytics and advertising identifiers, including Google click identifiers. You can restrict storage through your browser, although some measurements may no longer work.
7. Cross-border processing
Some technology providers may process data outside South Africa. Where POPIA requires it, we use providers, contractual protections or other safeguards designed to provide an adequate level of protection for transferred information.
8. Retention
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, to maintain advice and transaction records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and meet legal or regulatory retention requirements. We then delete, de-identify or securely restrict it where appropriate.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, access controls and service-provider controls. No online transmission or storage system is completely secure. If a reportable security compromise occurs, we will follow POPIA’s notification requirements.
10. Direct marketing
We send direct marketing only where permitted. You may opt out at any time using the message instructions or by contacting us. Service, regulatory and policy-administration messages may still be sent where necessary.
11. Your rights
Subject to POPIA and PAIA, you may ask whether we hold your information, request access, correction or deletion, object to processing, withdraw consent, or complain about our handling. Some rights are limited where law requires us to keep or process the information. See our PAIA Manual for access requests.
12. Complaints to the Information Regulator
Please give us a chance to resolve a privacy concern first. You may also complain to the Information Regulator at POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za, call 010 023 5200, or visit inforegulator.org.za.
13. Changes and contact
We may update this notice as our services, providers or legal obligations change. The current version will remain on this page. Contact the Information Officer at priyesh@preevees.co.za, 072 111 9910, or 9 Terence Pl, Durban North, 4051.
